A Franchise of Greatness...

Our Weekly 2 Minute Read

Edition 117 - October 11, 2020

It’s incredible how every decade; the Lakers seem to always find their way to the NBA finals.

If you guys didn’t know, my favorite basketball team is the Los Angeles Lakers.

I grew up during the Kobe and Shaq era and I have been an avid Lakers fan ever since.

Watching the Lakers growing up when Kobe and Shaq were going for their 3-peat was one of the most exciting times to be in Los Angeles as a basketball fan.

Then when Shaq left for the Miami Heat, and seeing Kobe develop as a leader and creating the mamba mentality; showed a period of time where Kobe and Lakers had tremendous growth and development which always had me emotionally invested into the team and the players.

Eventually Kobe teamed up with Gasol and formed another dynasty winning back to back titles.

It’s been an amazing journey following the NBA and the Lakers franchise for many many years.

Each year full of emotion and excitement to see how the team is going to look and how they would compete against the rest of the league.

I feel very lucky as a sports fan to have been able to see 5 NBA championships earned by the Lakers in the course of two decades.

It’s also amazing to know that the Lakers had won 11 champions before that making it a total of 16 championships overall.

It has definitely been fun to watch a world-class organization such as the Lakers operate.

There have been many ups and downs like with anything in life but I have enjoyed the journey thus far.

Currently they are going for their 17th Championship which would finally tie the Boston Celtics for the most Championships of all time as a franchise.

Game 6 is today and the Lakers are one more win away from another NBA Championship.

It’s going to be exciting to see what happens!
