A Statement Made...

Our Weekly 2 Minute Read

Edition 144 - April 15, 2021

This week was a major milestone in the Civil Rights movement in the United States.

Whether the decision to find Derek Chauvin guilty of second degree murder was right or not, there's no arguing this is a huge statement for human rights.

Like any trial, we can't truly say whether it was the right or wrong decision.

But a decision was made on the facts and evidence presented.

Could we, as a society, have prevented this?

Maybe.

If George Floyd didn't die, none of us would know the name Derek Chauvin.

But we can't change the past and the actions that took place.

All we can do is continue to move forward.

Yes, we have to learn from the past.

But dwelling on the past and overanalyzing will keep us stuck there.

This trial made a statement and now we must continue to improve.

Improve towards progress.

And improve ourselves every day.
