The Launch of an Era...

Our Weekly 2 Minute Read

Edition 101 - July 7, 2020

Personally, I was not yet old enough to remember the Rodney King riots of 1992 in Los Angeles.

Over the past week+, many Americans have made a stamp into US history.

With societal tensions already high from COVID-19, all it took was a final spark to change the status quo.

As we saw, the unnecessary killing of George Floyd set off a huge chain reaction across the United States.

Yes, this wasn't the only event, but it was a timely one.

We live in a world where things should be better.

We live in a country where we have arguably the most opportunities at our fingertips.

We have created technology that recently saw another manned space launch to the ISS.

Yet somehow, we still can't figure out a way to treat each other.

Will this problem ever go away?

Idealistically, yes.

Realistically, probably not.

But there's only one person that can control the despreading of racism and the way we treat our fellow humans.

I'm talking about you.

We have to learn to respect one another.

Inherently, it's uncomfortable - learning to interact with someone who has different opinions and values than your own.

But isn't that what community is about?

Tomorrow is a new day.

What happens tomorrow doesn't have to be like the past.

We can continue to grow.

You can continue to grow.

But it starts with you saying that enough is enough.
